2. Carrier Type: choose Moving Company
3. Type the name of the company in the field 'Carrier Name / DBA
4. Skip the 'County' field.
5. Click the button 'Submit'

2. Scroll down until you see a search bar titled 'Check Motor Carrier Safety and Performance Data'
3. Enter the company's name, or US DOT number, or MC number
4. Click 'Search'
5. Some companies have similar names; so, choose 'your' company from the list.
6. On the results page find 'Licensing and Insurance' on the top right corner. If the company has an active license (Active-For-Hire Authority) to perform interstate household moves you will see 'Yes' after 'Household Goods' and an MC number. If you see 'No' - don't work with that company.
